Updates Fitch Ratings Q-IFS for USA property insurers accident.
CHICAGO - Fitch Ratings has today informed the Quantitative insurer financial strength (IFS-Q) to 555 the rate of ownership of USA / casualty insurance companies. At the same time, Fitch has assigned new Q-IFS notes in 80 U.S. property / casualty insurers.
Of the 555 ratings upgrade, there are 69 upgrades, cuts 25, and 381 insurance. Fitch notes that the number of updates that the reductions reflect improved credit fundamentals faced by companies during the year 2006 nominal.
Including 555 Q-IFS notes, Fitch currently maintains coverage of 958 U.S. property / casualty insurance companies collectively represent approximately 74% of total net premiums.
In addition, Fitch removed 23 existing Q-IFS various disciplines, such as property / casualty insurance companies no longer meet the criteria for Fitch to be eligible to receive a Q-IFS rating.
Q-IFS comments generated solely on a statistical model using the last five years statutory financial information. The model incorporates’ ability logic “, which reflects many aspects of quantitative analysis used to provide traditional disciplines of the IFS. While recognizing the limitations associated with using a strict quantitative rating approach, Fitch believes IFS specialisations that provide a reasonable representation of society “autonomous financial strength and operating characteristics.
